My favourite charity is Shelter and I’ve done some fundraising for them in the past. In light of this I was delighted to learn that BULS was kind enough to lend a helping hand to one of our more critical visitors, Luke_D, when he found himself homeless at V Festival. Luke was provided with a tent free of charge, belonging to our club. According to BULS sources it was also in very good condition, not the drafty smelly one we reserve for tories or club dissidents.
For those who may not know, Luke has his own blog which is not about cows at all. The Cowfield recently criticised me for drawing attention to West Bromwich Albion’s fantastic league victory last season. In the dizzy heights of the Premiership, it is often easy to forget about the more lowly clubs, as a Wolves supporter Luke realises just how one must grasp at any signs of footballing triumph. Yet if all Wolves has to offer is charity off the pitch then so be it.
It’s a shame that Luke hasn’t chosen to thank BULS for it’s kind help to him during his darkest hour of need. Perhaps in future the committee will be forgiven for thinking twice.

I did indeed show my thanks for the loaning me of a tent (which wasn’t completely necessary, but the quality of my own tent is rather lacking! So, not quite my ‘darkest hour’ but I get why you included that for dramatic effect). Oh, and there was a rip in the door, and there was some such rubbish left inside it after the previous occupant (all minor gripes though).
And the “grasping at footballing triumph” part…hmm…does that work for politics as well…as a lot of the posts on here do seem to have the feel of intense straw-clutching.
Finally 9 goals in three games, an exciting young team built for the future, a chairman willing to back the manager, and improve the club as a whole, and a sponsor for the season are all reasons us Wolves fans feel optimistic.
Contrast this with WBA, who are lacking any such sponsor, who cannot find anyone willing to buy the club, who built a promotion winning side on older players, and then shipped them off once they were promoted, and who have a really ugly yellow away kit.
Oh, and the Cowfield is the view I have as I sit in my bedroom, indeed, I am aware of a calf suckling from the udder of its mother right now…
Wolves and Baggies aside, i must congratulate Aston Villa for forgoing a sponsership that last season earnt us £2m, and adopting the local charity ‘Acorns’, a childrens hospice in the West Midlands which footballing bias aside im sure we can all agree is a fantastic gesture
